My path is '/usr/local/google/home/terry' couldn't use'--path=~/dartium-2062'
had to use '--path=/usr/local/google/home/terry/dartium-2062'

I think you might want:

path = os.path.expanduser(path) to expand ~

These are shallow checkouts without the other branches. We should add a warning
that they are not suitable for doing merges.

Comment added at the top.  I use this to get going quickly (e.g., need to debug
trunk on a mac), so shallow usually makes sense.

We could add a --deep or similar at some point.
