Instead of using an intermediate file, we can just call the function as you
suggested.
Thus this would just be:
compute_interfaces_info(idl_files)

(We could use a return value, but that's not necessary.)

...and in fact this is just one line now, so we can inline it.

Right, with the compiler taking interface_info I'll do just that.

We can pass the dict in directly (no file needed!) as:  
interfaces_info=interfaces_info,
(assuming you've imported it into this context).
