interesting that we needed this... I wonder if we only need this because we
don't have a way to express 'on-enter' or 'on-insert' (which would be triggered
when the element is added)

Agreed, that's the issue here. on-insert would be nice.

Another idea is to refactor it using observe or setImmediate. I was kinda being
lazy and trying to avoid testing IE again :). Maybe if I add a TODO here?
